DE&I in the Workplace: Promoting Allyship and Getting Buy-in for Ground-up Initiatives

Please register in advance to attend this free, in-person event.

The SSP UK Regional Committee invite you to join us for a panel discussion, Q&A, and networking event on the topic of DE&I in the workplace.

This event will give insights into the creation of diversity and inclusion initiatives or programmes in publishing organisations. What challenges did the founders face in the early days compared to later years? How did these programmes gain buy-in at a senior or company-wide level? How can individuals boost the effectiveness of similar programmes in their own workplaces?

We will be welcoming four speakers on a range of topics:

  • Simon Holt, Elsevier – What is Disability Confidence, and How Do We Implement It in the Publishing Industry?
  • Laura Martin, Wiley – The Women of Wiley
  • Nikul Patel, Oxford University Press – The OUP UK BAME Network
  • Hannah Rowe, Taylor & Francis – The T&F LGBTQ+ Network

Registration is free of charge, and membership in SSP is not required to attend. A range of drinks will be provided.

Please note: As capacity is limited to 50 attendees, you must register to be admitted to the event.

Please read carefully before registering:

  • We highly recommend that you attend only if you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Stay at home if you feel sick at all on the day of the event or have recently been exposed to someone that is sick.
